Pedestrian Bridge: facility or torture…

By Sehar Azhar Dar

University of Karachi is situated at a very busy road where we can see a huge traffic every time we pass by. And because of this many people especially KUrians face problems crossing the road.

Usually we see that over these busy roads government usually constructs crossing bridges for pedestrians. We have a pedestrian bridge too in front of the varsity near the Silver Jubilee gate.

Despite having this bridge to provide us a safe pathway, some students still think that crossing the road was a better option since they find it quite difficult to climb up the stairs. They say that there is already a long walk up to their department which causes fatigue and this bridge makes it more agonizing.

I think when we have a safer path we OUGHT to use it and should not take any risks. It’s really up to us to decide either this bridge is a facility or a torture.
